Wood Stove and Oven Catalytic Converters and Combustors

Whitebeam designs and supplies catalytic converters to reduce fumes from cooking and heating appliances, especially rapid cook ovens, pyrolytic self-cleaning ovens and wood burning stoves. Catalytic converters are an effective way of minimising various organic fumes including VOCs, carbon monoxide and condensable particulate matter.

Our approach is to design a catalytic converter so that it meets our customer's requirements in terms of performance, cost and durability. To give ourselves the most flexibility we make use of a wide range of technologies, both traditional and innovative, for the 'substrates' (which provide the surface for the coating to be applied to) and the coating which is responsible for the chemical reaction.

It is a good idea to select the type of substrate first, and the four most useful types for cooking and heating appliances are described below.
